The ring does not appear when I press Command
Make sure Pointer Cue is enabled from its menu-bar item, then quit and reopen the app. Pointer Cue v1.3.0 polls the physical Command-key state locally and does not require you to enable Input Monitoring to highlight the pointer.
What is the 60-day Pro Preview?
New users can use the complete Pointer Cue Pro feature set for 60 days from their first acquisition. After the preview, the app continues in Free mode. There is no automatic charge.
What remains free after the Pro Preview?
Highlighting the pointer, showing clicks, focusing the active window, and the white and red highlight colors remain available for free.
What does Pointer Cue Pro unlock?
Pointer Cue Pro lets you frame an area, configure the area-framing shortcut, and use orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, and custom colors. Pro is a one-time purchase with no subscription.
I purchased Pointer Cue before v1.3.0. Do I need to buy Pro?
No. Customers who originally acquired a paid version before v1.3.0 receive Lifetime Pro at no additional cost.
How do I restore Pointer Cue Pro?
Open the Pointer Cue menu, choose Pointer Cue Pro, and use Restore Purchases. The restoration is handled through the App Store with your Apple Account.
How do I outline an area?
Framing an area is a Pro feature. From Range Selection in the menu bar, choose Command + Drag, Control + Command + Drag, Option + Command + Drag, or Off. Hold the selected shortcut and left-drag to draw a temporary rectangle. New users can use this feature during the 60-day Pro Preview.
How do I focus the active window?
Enable Highlight Active Window. The active top-level window remains clear while the rest of that display's usable area is covered by a translucent mask. Masked areas remain operable, and the menu bar and Dock stay clear.
What happens with multiple displays?
The active-window highlight applies only to the display containing the active window. Other displays remain unmasked. If an active window spans displays, the highlight applies only to displays containing that window.
Does the active-window highlight follow window switching?
Yes. It follows normal macOS switching and selection, including Command + Tab, window cycling, clicks, Dock, Stage Manager, Mission Control, and Finder Quick Look. During a move or resize, the mask temporarily disappears and returns at the final stable position.
How do I change the cue color?
Open the Color submenu from the Pointer Cue menu-bar item. White and red are free. Additional preset colors and custom colors are available during the 60-day Pro Preview and with Pointer Cue Pro.
How do I change the display language?
Open the Pointer Cue menu-bar item and choose a language from the Language submenu. By default, Pointer Cue follows your macOS preferred language.
How do I turn off Launch at Login?
Open the Pointer Cue menu-bar item and disable Launch at Login.
Does Pointer Cue need Screen Recording permission?
No. Pointer Cue does not capture, upload, or transmit your screen content. Its visual cues are generated locally on your Mac.
Which macOS versions are supported?
Pointer Cue v1.3.0 supports macOS 13.5 or later on Intel Macs and Apple silicon Macs.
What is the status of the Windows version?
The existing Windows version remains available from Microsoft Store, but active feature development is currently paused. Newer macOS features may not be available on Windows.
